Choir people have a bond, and those bonds develop quickly! We have friendships in the choir that have lasted 25 years and those that have been forged in the last 3 months, as many new members have joined us. A real connection is created as we learn and perform beautiful music together. As one choir member recently remarked:
“Our choir has real family values, friendship, fun and love at its heart. I tried other choirs in Derby before coming here but they weren’t the same. It’s worth the 40 minute round trip for the bunch of people in that room
on a Monday evening.” Louise
Not surprisingly, there are a lot of social opportunities for our choir members:
• Many of the choir like to head to the bar after rehearsals for social time, and our rehearsal venue at The New Bath Hotel is ideal for that
• Our Voice Representatives for each voice part (soprano, alto, tenor and bass) regularly organise coffee/cake rehearsals for their voice parts, held at each others’ houses
• Each voice part has its own WhatsApp Group to share information, useful tips, check arrangements and simply to chat and have fun
• The choir holds its annual New Year party in January each year, together with our own version of the Royal Variety Performance!
• There are a host of other opportunities to join groups to go to the cinema or theatre.
